Occupational constraints to delayed retirement
Background research identified that there are many 'hidden' contraints to delayed retirement (affecting possible transition to part-time employment) over and above those already well known (like implict tax on superannuation). Among these hidden constraints are occupation-specific requirements for ongoing registration and indemnity insurance (e.g. doctors, nurses, most professionals), fitness levels (police), levels of minimum activity (pilots). We asked eight major Tasmanian employers to help us identify these contraints and so inform our questionnaire and its concepts. The resulting background paper will be uploaded shortly.
